Working with Heidi was truly a dream come true. I met with Heidi and Kim with Olive and Rose early in her planning stages to nail down an invitation design. Heidi’s vision for her invitation was a simple, classic design that truly stood out. She wanted black and white everything but really wanted it to have a great design, and I could not want to get started. We discussed inspiration and specific design ideas — using nothing but black and white was going to be so much fun! After looking at a few different design options, we landed on a typography design that highlighted their names in white ink on black paper. This was one wedding invitation that was going up on the wall and not in the trash. Spring Black Tie Classic Pittsburgh Wedding
Modern Romantic Bridal Style
With Heidi & Tom’s super-cool design sense, I knew that their spring wedding in downtown Pittsburgh would be one for the books! But when I saw the wedding day come to life with all the beautiful details orchestrated by Olive and Rose? “Obsessed” is not too strong a word….
First off, I cannot get over Bridget’s gorgeous bridal look from Bridal Beginnings. This dress is just everything, with intricate lace detail creating a stunning boho-luxe vibe. And you can really feel the love between this sweet couple in these gorgeous photos captured by Abbie of Abbie Tyler Photos.
Warm Florals & Tons of Texture
Planner Kim from Olive and Rose struck the perfect note between chic, black tie wedding and a lux, spring mood. The lush bouquets and floral displays by Sapphire & Lace Design
enhanced the vibe, incorporating lots of blooms in blush, burgundy, and mauve which included anemones, roses and fresh greenery. And wait until you see their wedding cake — it’s covered, and I mean completely COVERED, with fresh florals.
Pretty Paper Details
The invitation suite was designed with a minimalist, black tie vibe in mind. I paired a I paired a clean, modern serif typeface with a gorgeous script that highlighted their names. Thank you, Heidi and Tom, for sharing your special day with me!
