Working with Kristin’s mom, Wimberly, was a dream come true. It isn’t often that I have the pleasure of working with a mother of the bride, and I had an absolute blast working hand in hand with Wimberly on her daughters stationery. Kristin and Rob were getting married at a dreamy winery in Charlottesville, Virginia. Wimberly told me a dreamy story of their wedding day and venue, and I could hear her choke back tears as she told me she was sewing her daughters wedding dress. It was the same dress that she wore, she said, and had been passed down through the family for generations. Kristin’s wedding was going to be full of tradition, class, family heirlooms and Wimberly wanted their wedding invitations to reflect that same sentiment.
We started with their custom monogram, an interlocking K and R, in a deep gold. Wimberly chose our Naomi suite, a perfect match for their wedding at the picturesque Delfosse Winery. Double thick cotton paper, gold lined envelopes and inner envelopes greeted each guest in their mailbox. Green and blue watercolor elements were used throughout the invitation suite that complimented Kristin’s wedding bouquet perfectly.
