wedding invitation timeline: what is the ordering process?

December 28, 2016

So, how does this work?  We pinky promise it’s super easy!  About 8 months before your wedding, we begin the consultation and design phase of your invitations which allows us plenty of time to design, proof, and print your invitations.

Consultation
It’s never too early to get started! No matter how customized you want your stationery to be, our boutique design process begins with an initial complimentary design consultation. We like to begin with a phone call or in personal consultation to get to know you and hear what you have in mind for your invitation suite. We are visual people, so hearing all your tiny details helps us brainstorm and bring your vision to life. If you have a Pinterest board, we’d love to see it. We’ll bring paper swatches, our foil books, past work and samples with you to sift through. We can’t wait for you to see all of our pretty paper goods!

Proposal
Every perfect marriage begins with a proposal! Shortly after our consult, we’ll send you a pricing proposal along with optional add-ons for you to consider and an estimated timeline. Once your deposit and contract are received we begin the design phase.

Concept Presentation
As a custom stationery studio, we take all of your ideas and inspiration then integrate them into 2-3 original concepts for your invitation suite. You’ll have a chance to select your favorite concept, or mix and match various components as we move forward to design coordinating pieces.

Proofing
We are so excited to hear your feedback and refine your stationery until it’s absolutely perfect. All clients receive two digital proofs during the design process. Once your design is finalized and digitally approved, we’ll have hard copy proofs printed for you. We want you to see your full, final invitation printed in color and on your paper selection! Your final project balance is due at this point as well.

Printing
Blush Paper Co. will work with you to confirm all of your printing and paper choices before going to print. When you have approved your hard copy proof, your invitations are sent into production! You can expect your invitations to ship within three weeks of your approval date. Our suites ship flat and ready to assemble, unless you’ve opted for our assembly services.
