During your consultation, we’ll go over the ins and outs of paper goods. Beyond the formal invitation and reply card, which you absolutely must include in your invitation suite, what should you include? Why? One of the most fun cards you can include are your details card — and yes, I said fun. Why fun? Because you can dress it up, use different card sizes and make them as decorative or as minimalist as you’d like! Let’s explore five different ways to use your detail cards today.
RECEPTION INFORMATION
If your ceremony and reception are at two different locations, I always recommend a reception card. You’ll want your guests to know where they’re headed to next, so be sure to include the full name and address of your reception location. Is this an adults only reception? Black tie affair? This is where you want to include all the pertinent information — not on your formal invite!
ACCOMMODATIONS/HOTEL CARD
Are you blocking off hotel rooms for your guests? You need a way to let them know the ins and outs of the hotel block. A small details card with the important information is the way to go! You’ll want to include the name of the hotel(s), their address and phone number as well as the name of the room block and expiration date.
Weekend Details
What if you’re having weekend festivities and need to relay that information? Let your guests know where to go on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a details card.
Website
Have a wedding website? Direct guests to your website, where you’ll hold important wedding details, share your love story and even photos! You can use your details card to direct guests to your wedding website for more information about your wedding day and weekend details.
WEDDING MAP
Increasing in popularity are watercolor wedding maps, and I am HERE for the trend! These are hands down my favorite detail cards. Share details of your love story while giving guests a map of your wedding location in artwork form.
