Every year, styles change and evolve.  I began to see the shift in late 2019, but I’m excited to share what I predict will be wedding invitation trends for 2020.  I base these trends on the shift I begin to see in style and preference with my couples not only in their paper goods, but in lifestyles, magazines, fashion design and color predictions.

 

Wedding Monograms

Monograms aren’t going anywhere.   They’re like peanut butter and jelly.  Coffee and creamer.  Blush and gold.   Monograms make an excellent detail feature on your wedding invitations because you can use them again and again throughout your entire wedding suite, reception and beyond — think of your programs, stamps, menus, coasters, thank you cards and personalized stationery for after the wedding!

Monograms on wedding invitations have been popular for years, but this design has been seeing the most action for 2020 so far.  And, and I see a lot of couples choosing simple, single letter monograms for 2020, too.

Foil Stamping, Especially Rose Gold

Oh, foil stamping, be still my heart!  You aren’t going anywhere, either, and Rose Gold is here! To! Stay! Whether you use foil stamping to make a dramatic mark with envelope liners and a floral statement, or use foil to make an emphasis on your names, I know everyone is going to fall in love with the soft, pink hue of rose gold foil.

 

Blues and Greens

Pantone announced Classic Blue as the color of the year for 2020, and I’m not surprised.  I saw a lot of dusty blue and navy in 2019, especially toward the end of summer, and I’m thrilled to see it sticking around.  There are so many gorgeous shades of blue to use throughout your wedding.  My favorite way to incorporate blue is through envelopes and ink selection.  It’s a color that can look great throughout your invitation suite, so don’t be afraid to use it!

White Ink Printing

I’ve had a few brides use this gorgeous print method, and I am here for it!  This stunning print method makes a tremendous impact on your invitations and envelopes.  This year, I’m looking forward to seeing more white ink printing on dark envelopes.  I’m seeing more and more brides opt for black, navy or forest green envelopes and I have to say, I am loving this trend.
