I am thrilled to introduce you to Nathalie and Andrew, my darling couple from Canada! They have an incredible engagement story, filled with music and laughter, and I’m excited to be sharing their love story with you today. Many thanks to Grace and Gold for sharing their gorgeous photography with us!
Your Name: Nathalie Chevassu
Your Sweetheart’s Name: Andrew Cameron
How’d you meet? On what could have been a midsummer night’s dream, the caprices of fate collided our paths on a terrace. Up until that point we had never formally met, having previously only exchanged glances around their shared workplace. That night, things changed irrevocably when I said the time-honoured line, “don’t I know you from somewhere?” The rest is living history.
When did you know he was the one? Did he know before you? I just learned something new! I wasn’t sure about this one, so I asked Andrew. Apparently he knew the night we first met while we shared a cab ride home after talking until sunrise. There was no specific “Aha!” moment for me, one day I just knew he was the love of my life.
How did you get engaged? Were you surprised? Did you cry? Andrew surprised me one day after work when I came home to a five-piece mariachi band in our living room serenading us with “Besame mucho” as he got down on own knee. I could not stop crying of joy.
When and Where are you getting married? What made you decide on that time of year & location? We are getting married at Aquatopia Water Garden Conservatory in Carp, Canada, in September. It’s a funny story, we actually booked the venue, before even being engaged! We decided to visit it one day, we fell in love with it on the spot, and booked it right then and there. We chose the month of September with hopes for a beautiful day and cool evening.
Describe your wedding in three words: A romantic garden wedding.
What have you loved the most about planning your wedding? Seeing our vision come to life!
What had been the most difficult about planning your wedding? We decided to have a two year engagement, which I highly recommend since it has allowed us to gradually plan our wedding. However, the most difficult part has been to remain patient for our big day to arrive!
What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day, besides getting married?! Celebrating our big day with our closest family and friends.
Are you taking a honeymoon? Where are you going?! Yes! We are escaping to Italy to indulge in some of the world’s finest food and wine in the North and take in the beautiful scenery in the Costiera Amalfitana, the Amalfi Coast!
Why is marriage so important to you two? What are you most excited for or nervous about? Marriage speaks to our commitment of our love and always being there to support each other.
Do you have any advice for a newly engaged couple? Enjoy every moment!
